General FAQs

How do courses work?

RadioShack Learning Center online courses are accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. Courses include two to eight lessons and may also include quizzes and assignments. These courses have a begin and end date, and the course lessons post one at a time between those two dates. The first lesson of each course is available on the course begin date, and the remaining lessons post twice a week until all lessons have been posted. Once a lesson has posted, it remains available on our site 24/7 until the course end date, and the course ends about two weeks after the last lesson has posted. Although course lessons post one at a time, you can review all posted lessons at your own pace and at anytime of the day. During an active course session, you may interact with your fellow students and your instructor via the course Message Board.

Where can I find a complete listing of the available courses?

To learn more about a course, click the course title in the Courses area of the RadioShack Learning Center home page. You'll see an overview of the course that includes a course description, begin and end dates, a list of lessons, recommended course materials, and an introduction to the instructor.

Where do the courses take place?

Courses take place online and are accessible from any computer with Internet access. The lessons post twice a week beginning on the course start date. Once a course has started, you are free to complete any posted lessons when it is convenient for you. Just be sure to complete your lessons before the posted end date.

What is the advantage of taking an online course instead of a regular course or even buying a book to learn more?

As with a traditional course, an online course uses a collection of lessons, assignments, and quizzes to help you learn, as well as an instructor to guide your learning, but it is up to you to determine the time and place you attend a class. You can take an online course when it is convenient for you, rather than organizing your schedule around class time. You also get personalized feedback from the instructor and the opportunity to chat with other students to gain more insight and information about the subjects that interest you.
